VERGOGNA SCHIFOSI (1968) POLIZIOTTO SPRINT (1977)

Some of the latest italian cinematic offerings from Giallo Goblin.

1. VERGOGNA SCHIFOSI (1968)

2. HIGHWAY RACER (aka) POLIZIOTTO SPRINT (1977)

After recently watching the above I can say with utter authority that ‘Poliziotto Sprint’ has become one of my all-time fave Massi/Merli collaborations. Contrary to a few luke-warm reviews (not entirely sure if they were watching the same film as me) I found Merli’s sans moustache speed drivin’ copper to be entirely riveting creation, and the plentiful display of bravura stunt driving is second to none; all that and a sweet funky soundtrack by maestro Cipriani and I was left giddy with boys-own excitement and wondered why this marvellous actioner remains such a frustratingly obscure title. Personally all the Merli/Massi titles should be made available in pristeen prints, as Massi was a superior craftsman and Maurizio Merli is the definition of Italian hard boiled cool. (He looks very dapper in his skinny-fit denim shirt and snug leather jacket)

I have decided to upload a miscellany of music that I listen to while working on the site or my various script writing projects. These posts willl include many latest discoveries from the heady realms of the heavy Metal underground or long-neglected exotic sound track masterpieces, heady psyche brain burners or life-long favorites. Later today I will be uploading Picture - ‘Diamond Dreamer’ / ‘Eternal Dark (1981/’82)  & Meliah Rage - Kill to Survive (1988)  Both of these have been getting much airplay chez moi.
