THE MURDER SECRET (1988)

Thursday, February 24th, 2011

Fun spooky house horror, replete with Nutbag aunts and all manner of requisite Italian genre lunacy; produced by Lucio Fulci and directed with “relative” competency by Mario ‘Burial Ground’ Bianchi. The film takes a wee while to come to the boil, but when it finally does reach body temperature it rewards the more patient viewer; also includes a delightful shower scene with the buxom Jessica Moore which certainly doesn’t detract from the overall entertainment value. ┬áTruth be known this is far more amusing to watch than many of the Fulci-helmed horror’s from the similar era; should be of greater interest to those who simply must watch every 80’s Italian schlocker. When all is said and done I personally found much to enjoy with ‘Murder Secret’ (1988) and the zesty electronic score certainly didn’t go unoticed! (Might be time for a Bianchi horror box set)

Any film starring the delicious Tiffany Bolling shot in esoteric Duo-Vision is surely a must-see. (Just don’t watch it drubk! Drunk, sorry!)

PSYCHO FROM TEXAS (aka) WHEELER (1975)

Sunday, February 6th, 2011

Quality (depending on one’s tastes, of course!) example of an exceptionally lurid, deep south-set Hicksploitation; chock-full-o-nuts and more added meaty goodness besides!

MONDO MAGIC (aka) MAGIA NUDA (1975)

Sunday, February 6th, 2011

Very lurid, exploitative and prurient “mondo-mentary” with all the grotesque unexpurgated contents one looks for in these gonzoid flickers.

Obscure Canadian schlockfest from the mid-70’s. (Worth a look for H.G Lewis fans)
