Wednesday, April 27th, 2011Excellent Roeg-esque UK thriller with Terence Morgan as the vengeful cuckold and a young Peter Duncan playing the zesty, libidinous knave who penetrates his voluptuous and adulterous wife (Lea Brodie). This dark, exotic morality piece is stylishly mounted is capably acted and has a suitably unflinching finale. I thoroughly enjoyed ‘The Lifetaker’ and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to friends. A British-lensed UK thriller that is wholly deserving of a mint DVD resurrection. Sadly this quality melodrama is currently obscure these days that I couldn’t even locate a medium-sized poster or VHS cover scan.
