DRACULA JAGDT FRANKENSTEIN (1970)

Monday, July 25th, 2011

Suitably ridiculous, entertaining and schlocky Spanish / German Co-production with horror stalwarts Michael Rennie & Paul Naschy. An alien race walks covertly among us hatching a suitably fiendish plan to re-animate all our greatest and most iconic cinematic monsters, in order that they might take over our beloved planet with the miminum of fuss and pulaver. By jove! That sounds eminently plausible, wonder if it will work? (As always Naschy does excellent work as his hirsute werewolf nemesis Waldemar Daninsky)

MAN ON FIRE (1987)

Original version of the later Tony Scott / Denzel Washington Re-make.

THE LUCIFER COMPLEX (1978)

Monday, July 25th, 2011
Robert Vaughan unearths an uber sinister plot by dastardly, shadowy individuals to clone leading figures of the Nazi regime; naturally, Vaughan being a patriotic American is somewhat chagrined by their grotesque machinations! Will Vaughan sit idly by? Why not sit idly before, the not-so idle ‘The Luicfer complex’ and discover the exhilarating degree of Vaughn’s incredulity and rising Ire!

THE KEEPER (1976)

Monday, July 25th, 2011

Entertaining Canadian horror yarn from T.Y ‘Terror Train’ Drake with an amusing, and wholly convincing performance from the legendary Christopher Lee as the scheming, and not just a little mad owner of an exclusive health spa, where all is most certainly not as it seems! (This might actually be one of my favourite Lee performances)

Yes! Finally a mint copy of Ferdinando Baldi’s sleazoid classic!

COLPO IN CANNA (1975) (aka) LOADED GUN

Friday, July 22nd, 2011

Fernando Di Leo’s zesty Comedy / Euro-Crime actioner with a who’s-who cast of Italian exploitation cinema. Woody ‘Il Boss Strode’, Marc ‘Live like a cop, die like a cop’ Porel, Ursula ‘Motel of Fear’ Andress’.  (and of course Lino Banfi, who’s ribald comedy styling’s are, certainly, an acquired taste!)

EXORCIST III (aka) NAKED EXORCISM (1974)

Friday, July 22nd, 2011

One of a plethora of Italian Exorcist rip-off’s produced in the 1970’s; this particularly fragrant offering being slightly more sleazy than most versions. That said, I have a very high tolerance for unsavoury material, so one should be wary of any recommendation I give about films with less than salubrious content; but I dug on it!
